Amy Rohrer, CAE
President & CEO
Amy Rohrer, CAE has served as President & CEO of the Maryland Hotel & Lodging Association since 2015. She was hired by the organization as a Membership Director in 2005 and has taken on increasing responsibilities ever since. In 2010, she earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives. She served on the International Society of Association (ISHA) Board from 2008-2011 and remains active with the organization. She currently serves on the Maryland Tourism Education Foundation Board of Directors and works closely with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) as their exclusive Partner State Executive in Maryland.

Melissa Simpson
Vice President of Operations
Melissa Simpson joined the Maryland Hotel Lodging Association team in March of 2022. As Vice President of Operations, she manages membership development, MHLA events and communications. Melissa was with Marriott for the past 11 years, on the Brand Talent team at Marriott International HQ and at Gaylord National overseeing Internal Events & Communications. With a focus on associate culture and engagement in both roles, Melissa partnered and volunteered on several MHLA events before joining the team. Prior to joining Gaylord National, Melissa worked at Victoria Secret Stores HQ in Reynoldsburg, OH for 10 years on the Field Planning & Communication and Technical Design teams.
