Committee Members are named by the MHLA Chair according to bylaws requirements on an annual basis. Standing Committees are listed below. Task Forces may also be established as needed. Legislative
Open to all Lodging Members who are designated as Voting or Non-Voting. Corporate Advisory Members may also be invited as non-voting participants. Each year the committee is named prior to meetings occurring via zoom January - April each Monday from 11:00-12:00.
Review proposed legislation potentially impacting the lodging industry.
Provide input that helps to determine MHLA’s legislative priorities and testimony on specific bills
Assist with the Association's written testimony
Contact legislators/regulators as needed
May testify at legislative hearings as needed
Ambassador
Open to Lodging & Allied Members willing to work directly with MHLA staff in meeting membership goals. May join at anytime.
Assist with developing membership sales strategies and leverage existing relationships to achieve MHLA membership goals
Act as ambassadors of the Association
Golf Outing
Open to Lodging & Allied Members. Committee Members named prior to meetings typically occurring monthly May - October via Zoom meetings.
Identify ways to continuously build on and enhance a successful signature event
Solicit sponsorships, golfers, prizes, donations, etc. to achieve fundraising goals for the event
May assist or recruit volunteers to assist with day-of event help
Stars of the Industry
Open to Lodging & Allied Members. Committee Members named prior to meetings typically occurring monthly November - April via Zoom meetings.
Identify ways to enhance the industry's employee recruitment, engagement and retention
Support Annual Awards Luncheon planning and recognition gained by nominees and award winners
Encourage participation from hotels through nominations and attendance
Solicit sponsorships and donations for the event
Assist with various needs the day of event
Human Resources
Made up of HR Professionals who represent MHLA member properties in support of MHLA’s mission.
Network and connect with other HR professionals employed by MHLA member properties
Be informed of legislation that may affect HR within the lodging industry
May assist MHLA’s advocacy as needed through HR expertise
Assist and engage fellow member hotels with “Stars of the Industry” Awards nomination process
Participate in compliance webinars and other meetings as determined by the needs of the group.
