MHLA Welcomes New Team Member, Gemma Moren

The Maryland Hotel Lodging Association (MHLA) is excited to announce that Gemma Moren has joined our team as our Full-Time Executive Administrator.

Gemma brings with her a wealth of experience and deep knowledge of the hotel industry, having spent over 30 years with Marriott International. Throughout her career, Gemma has been deeply committed to preserving and nurturing Marriott’s core values, playing a key role in sustaining its culture of excellence for associates worldwide.

During her tenure with Marriott, Gemma served in a variety of roles and made significant contributions, most notably through her work with the J. Willard Marriott Awards of Excellence program and Associate Appreciation Week, helping to celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements across the company. Her extensive background and dedication to hospitality excellence will be a tremendous asset to MHLA as we continue to serve and support Maryland’s lodging industry.

At the same time, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Christine Abe, who first joined MHLA as a full-time Administrative Assistant in 2015. After an 18-month break, she returned in a part-time capacity in 2023. Christine’s dedication, professionalism, and positive spirit have left a lasting impact on both our team and our members, providing invaluable continuity and care behind the scenes in recent years. As she transitions from this role, we extend our deepest gratitude for her many contributions and for the part she has played in MHLA’s success and evolution.
