New Card Check Video for Employees

Industry Releases New Educational Video On Card Check For Employees 7-2-09 Lodging industry employees now have the ability to easily learn about techniques used during card check organizing campaigns and about their rights if such a campaign is waged in their workplace, courtesy of an educational video just released by AH&LA."Stand Up" is the newest informational video produced by AH&LA for industry staff and can help answer many questions employees may have about union organizing campaigns.  This video complements the manager's video released last year about the Employee Free Choice Act and card check.This 12-minute video can be shown to hourly employees at staff meetings, training sessions, or during breaks.  AH&LA suggests following the "Stand Up" video with a neutral discussion between supervisors and their employees about it and what to expect if a union organizing drive using card check targets their workplace.The new video is available to AH&LA members through the association's Website, www.ahla.com/cardcheck.  It can be downloaded in a medium- or high-resolution Windows Media format to a computer for playback.  The video is an AH&LA member benefit, so please have your password ready to use when accessing the video's Webpage.
